Description
Adenosin Life Medical 5 mg/ml is an antiarrhythmic drug. It is used to diagnose and treat abnormal heart rhythms. It is also used as a diagnostic tool to widen the blood vessels in the heart in connection with a stress test (imaging of the heart).
Indication
Termination of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) involving the AV-node. Induction of brief AV-block for detection and location of accessory pathways with preexcitation. Pharmacological provocation of ischemia in the heart in conjunction with myocardial radioisotope scanning (thallium or technetium) in patients who cannot exercise adequately or for whom exercise is inappropriate. It can also be used in conjunction with echocardiography in cases where other pharmacological stress agents are not applicable.
